The absolute best, most unexpected part of Mutant Mayhem was that the soundtrack was by Nine Inch Nails
ok finally decided to look into the outfits seen in al be back cuz i wanted to find out who they were referencing.
to preface, the boys all reference different genres of music obviously, it is the music episode, raph is soul, leo is glam rock, donnie is techno, and mikey is rap.
raph's is definitely a nod to james brown, who was like. THE biggest name in soul. he's been called the "godfather of soul."
donnie's is a reference to daft punk, specifically guy-manuel de homem-christo. these first 2 were on the fandom wiki, which took out like all the guess work lmao
i asked my mom about this one and she said mikey's is most likely a reference to run dmc or ll cool j. after looking at both, i'm gonna say run dmc, it's the adidas tracksuit/hat combo.
leo's i'm like, 75% sure is a reference to david bowie??? i'm not really sure. with glam rock outifts being as campy as they are, it could be anyone. i don't think the team would've picked like super obscure bands to reference tho, and he's giving david bowie energy. so idk
